Ed G. is a rather amazing person, nothing seems able to put him down for good.
Maya James, you are a beautiful person. Thank you for sharing your story.
Peace
Ed G.’s story was one of the most powerful and compelling I’ve ever heard. I’m so sorry that he went through such hardship. I could never have the outlook he does if that had been me. Thank you so much for having the strength to share your story with us.
Such amazing stories from all. Glad to have found Risk!
I was shocked to hear how young Maya James was. I guess I had assumed that kind of flagrant racism was, for the most part, gone. I guess I’m naive. Great stories all around and incredibly brave. Thank you.
Maya James,
Thank you for sharing your story, I share your experiences and I appreciate your strength. When I was your age I didn’t have an eight of the courage you had. Growing up in Alabama I was faced with blatant racism, even our school mascot was a rebel and most of our shirts had the confederate flag. I believe your courage will inspire other young people, you’ve already inspired me. Thank you.
I blame Noah for making all our animals hella inbred after the flood
I’m typing this on the communal electric typewriter here at the nursing home
please forward my concerns to NPR – unless this is NPR
I’ll take my answer off the air
Megan, Maya, and Ed all showed amazing courage. I applaud each of them.
Maya-you are a very brave and talented young woman. Please know that this will make you stronger. I am glad that you’ve found like-minded people at Interlochen. Keep telling stories, keep doing what you are doing because your words will save someone!
This was a wonderful episode!!! (And it reminded me to donate…which I keep forgetting to do.)
