You should put your version of a trigger disclosure on this show, and you should especially put that trigger disclosure on the last segment of the show.
I’ve been in a place similar to what Chris Gethard described. I’m still in a safer place now, but that place is frighteningly close still.
Crash,
Trigger warnings are for people who think the whole world has to cater to them because they are special snowflakes.
If I come across things on the internet that is offensive, graphic, *triggering*, hateful, against my precious worldview or whatever, I exercise my right as a reasonable adult to close the window and go somewhere else.
This episode is about anxiety. It is titled Panic. Seriously…
Chad,
Go fuck yourself.
My suggestion was directed toward the producers, you arrogant piece of shit. If I wanted your advice, I’d have addressed the comment “Dear Chad..”. You see how that works?
Crash,
Good job at not addressing the matter at hand and resorting to personal attack. I wouldn’t have expected anything else.
Wow, you two are a couple pussies, huh? ^
Ad hominem attacks on the internet? Well I never.
Hey Crash,
Kevin sometimes says that the whole series of Risk! should come with an automatic trigger warning, but perhaps they could have some content warnings hidden under a ‘read more’ on the website page for each episode?
This is the least trigger-worthy Risk episode I have ever heard.
Loved this episode. Very very well placed music at the end brought me to tears. Thank you.
Boys, play nicely. I agree with Cass, the whole show is like a trigger happy toddler waiting to shoot at its next target. Sometimes Kevin will give a heads-up if the story goes a bit further than they normally do. But, “RISK!” is all about taking chances. I’ve learned that the best way to live with our past is to acknowledge its existence and discuss it with others.
The best part about listening to the RISK podcast for me is never knowing what I am getting myself into when listening to stories. I love the surprises. Please NEVER add trigger warnings to the actual episodes! If you must add them, hide them in a “read more” section like Cass suggested. Listening to RISK includes, well, risks.
Crash,
I’m an arrogant piece of shit and I found your post problematic. Perhaps you should have considered issuing a trigger disclosure ahead of your post to help people like me feel less marginalized.
Thank you,
Your Father
