I am a big fan of Risk! , and have the podcast on my IPhone.
This story started fantastically. The author was descriptive and I felt like I was in her shoes. During the middle, I kept telling myself, “the redemption is coming…. the redemption is coming, …” In the end, it never came.
I am disgusted by Donna Steele’s cowardice.
Eighteen months ago, I had to help my 76 year father, pull down his pants, find his penis, and urinate. I accepted the duty.
Just this evening… I drove my mother to the grocery store. During the car ride, I could smell that she had not changed her diaper. I pulled over, and we discussed it as adults. We then went to her home and changed her in to clean clothes.
I understand that Ms. Steele’s anecdote is “honest”, but this type of story is not what I expect from Risk!.’ Ms. Steele did not “risk” anything, she chose the path of regret.
I will be deleting Risk! form my Iphone.
Thanks,
Brian
Whenever we run a story with blood, poop, pee, vomit, or similar things, there are very emotional reactions from fans, but many of these reactions I find confusing.
Donna Steele’s mom is in her 40s in this story. She has no medical issues with her digestive or excretory system. She’s healthy. Donna clearly states in the story that she is not making fun of her mother or complaining about her mother. Donna is impressed that her mother lacks all the shame and fear about poop that most people have. She says that she has respect for her mother’s ability to continue to have unwavering confidence and self-esteem, even when she gets in situations that other people might judge as “messy.” – Kevin
Wow! I dread to think what my face looked like while listening to this story! Such a strange situation, and the descriptions of temperature/smell/responses from the other people in the shop were so immersive… exactly the sort of weird and shocking story that sets Risk apart from other podcasts
Wow I cant believe someone would delete such a awesome podcast like Risk over this story! I was cracking up the whole time! If there ever was a story that deserved a animated video it would be this one. I was picturing it the whole time.. kinda like those blank on blank videos.. Would be awesome!! Love you guys!
