When you said “I love you so so much, I’m not angry, I’m so happy that you told me, it’s going to be alright”, I heard not only the love you have for your daughter but also you giving the kindness, love, and empathy that you didn’t get from your mother during your gunshot moment. This is an exquisite example of how to parent. I’m going to start talking to myself the way you talked to your daughter in this moment.
