Hal Karp was by far the best. He’s extremely skilled and talented.

What an honor to share a podcast with such superstars and mega-talents like Selena Coppock and Tara Clancy. I loved hearing both of their stories. And I have already ordered both of their books! Thank you, Risk!
I liked Hal Karl’s story, but I hated the fact that Kenny’s despicable excuse for a mother was allowed to get away with treating her injured kid like that in a hospital emergency room, and that everyone’s response (Hal’s mother, hospital personnel) was apparently a collective shrug. Different era or not, that is complete bullshit.
The day we stop with the “not my kid, not my problem” mentality when confronted with outright child abuse is the day our society actually becomes civilized (and at the rate we’re going, humankind is sure to figure that out…oh, right around the beginning of the next ice age or so). Disgraceful.
