Rita Plush

Rita did a monologue as part of my competition in a Ms. New York Senior America Pageant (didn’t win, place, or show), but until RISK! her storytelling has been confined to writing. She’s had two novels and a collection of short stories published, and she teaches creative writing in continuing ed at Queensborough Coummunity College. But her experience as a stand-up storyteller as part of a RISK! show in January 2024 was a highlight in her writing life. She was nervous at first, but once she got going it was great.
